I started painting photographs in October of 2010, but the idea had already started taking root for a few months. The idea first came to me when coloring with my two girls. I would color their pictures with crayons on the outside of the characters like they had a halo. Enhancing the background was an interesting approach to the creative process. I would also fill in the spaces of my girls’ scribbles which also had a neat effect.
Exploring space is always rewarding.
